About Us

Settling in Canada Foundation (SCF) is a volunteer-based organization providing settling services to new immigrants and residents in Canada. SCF has a global and secular perspective and is not affiliated with any particular religion, community, ethnic group or political party. The aim of the organization is to tangibly assist Canadian residents with access to the right information, direction coupled with ongoing support through program partners enabling them to make qualified decisions which eventually would result in them making a smooth transition into the larger community.
One of the key focus areas for SCF going forward would be to facilitate subsidized and affordable housing opportunities to newly landed immigrants. We are already in discussions with partners who have expressed interest and would be happy to make available an inventory of homes across Canada which could be offered either free of cost or at subsidized rates to deserving families during their initial transition into their new homeland.

Our guiding principles

SCF will focus on people at greatest risk at the four life transition stages considered critical to future well-being: the early years, the transition from school to work, the shifts in and out of work, and retirement and ageing. SCF will promote integrated social policies and programs that improve the personal capacities and material resources of people and of their communities.
